Nag Champa is one of Indias traditional fragrances that has gained wide acceptance worldwide. Nag Champa has a strong, fresh and floral fragrance. Nag Champa has been appreciated as an exceptional incense, which is perfect for deep calming meditation.
Use: Bark is used in fevers, flowers are stimulant, good for eyes and relives burning , and in skin diseases, Root bark is purgative, used in amenorrhoea. Flowers tonic, stomachic, carminative, used in dyspepsia, nausea, fever, also useful as a diuretic in renal diseases. Flower oil used in cephalgia. Bark stimulant, diuretic and febrifuge. Dried root and root-bark used as a purgative and emmenagogue.
Plant pacifies vitiated tridosha, Detoxify poison, worm infestation, increase digestive power, diuretic and cures fever. Flowers reduce burning sensation, cures skin disease and ulcer. Dictation of the bark acts as remedy for amenorrhea.
In traditional medicine, an infusion or decoction of flowers is given in dyspepsia, nausea and fevers; also for preventing scalding in renal disease. Flowers, macerated in oil, are applied externally in cephalalgia, opthalmia, nasal infections, sinus, rheumatism, gout and vertigo. While yellow colored flower also use for high fever by boiling the flower.
It also use as anti inflammatory and antipyretic. Juice leaves is given with honey in colic. Leaves are also applied in andolent swellings.
